The Hmong were
first recorded in Chinese history as a minority group of
people who fought against the Yellow Emperor (Huang Di) of
China around 2500 B.C. Some speculate the
Hmong legends show that the Hmong may have originated from
a northern polar region. Through thousands of years, the
Hmong stood up fighting against the Chinese reign,
preventing from being assimilated into the Chinese
culture. Eventually the Hmong were forced to slowly
migrate southward into Southeast Asia around 1800.
